Unit Activity Lesson Plans

Introduction
Students have learned how to show the relationship of various words and parts of a sentence to the sentence as a whole through diagraming. In this lesson, they will test their knowledge of sentence structure, adjectives, and gerund phrases.

Lesson Description
Through a drag and drop activity, students will study a sentence and a blank diagram. The students must identify which word from the sentence belongs in which part of the blank diagram.

Instructional Objectives
  1. Students will be able to correctly identify compound sentence structure and diagram it accordingly.
  2. Students will also demonstrate their knowledge of diagraming adjectives and gerund phrases.
