In this chapter, you learned about resources available at your library. In this activity, you will use the Library of Congress page to search for information. Go to the Internet to conduct research on the Library of Congress page.

Directions
Start at the Library of Congress Online Catalog Web site.

  • Click on Basic Search.
  • Type ocelot in the Search Text box.
  • Select the Keyword Search Type.
  • Click the Begin Search button.
  • Answer the following questions.

Which title in the Library of Congress listings first gives you a clue as to what an ocelot is?

Click on the entry for Pet Ocelot. What is the Library of Congress number that identifies this entry?
3.
What happens when you click on the entry's CALL NUMBER?
4.
At the very bottom of the page is a yellow box containing links to two different Library of Congress sites. List the names of the two sites.
