Writer's Choice Grade 12

Unit 9: Troubleshooter

Overview

Some common errors creep into almost every document during the drafting stage. It is your job to catch and correct these errors before you present your final document to others. Common errors include sentence fragments, run-on sentences, lack of agreement between parts of a sentence, lack of clear pronoun reference, shifts in pronoun or verb tense, incorrect verb tenses or forms, misplaced or dangling modifiers, missing or misplaced possessive apostrophes, and missing commas. Use the Troubleshooter or a tool that identifies grammatical errors to locate and correct these common mistakes when you revise and edit your document. Your final document should be free of errors.
