This corporation has grown through expansion and acquisitions to become one of the world's leading manufacturers and marketers of tissue, pulp, paper, packaging, building products and related chemicals. Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia-Pacific employs some 55,000 people at more than 300 locations worldwide. The company was listed on the New York Stock Exchange from 1949 through 2005, when it was acquired as a wholly owned subsidiary of Koch Industries, Inc., a privately owned company based in Wichita, Kansas.

Two partners developed a business plan to create an organization that would grow to become the number one leader in software and Internet technologies. The two partners, William (Bill) Gates III and Paul Allen, incorporated in 1981. They based the headquarters for their promising brainchild in Redmond, Washington. Currently, this organization has over 60,000 employees worldwide and operates subsidiary offices in over 100 countries.
