Critical Reading

Critical Reading

As you read, try to engage the author as you might a friend in a lively conversation or an argument. Just as a talk with a friend involves active listening, rebuttal, use of facts, and logic, the interaction between yourself and the author needs to be a dynamic one as well.

Among the essential elements of critical reading are annotating, note taking, and questioning the text.
