In Chapter 14, we learned that the term "self-schema" refers to the specific knowledge structure, or cognitive representation, of the self-concept. Re-read this section of the chapter, and then discuss what you believe to be your "possible selves," "ought selves," and "undesired selves." In your essay, provide specific information (memories, aspirations, etc.) to illustrate each of your represented selves. Finally, do you believe this particular to be schemata accurate? Comprehensive? Helpful? Why or why not?

Re-read the section in the chapter on "The Self-Esteem of Minority Group Members." Do you believe that you belong to a minority group? If so, which one(s)? Do you compare yourself with other members of this minority group? If so, why and how? If you do not identify as belonging to a minority group, why not? How do you think the group with which you identify interacts with minority groups? Finally, how does being a minority or not affect your self-esteem? In your essay, remember to give specific personal experiences—and to cite examples from your textbook—to support your reasoning.
