Exercise 16.6 (22.0K)

Here is the information from a broadcast wire story transmitted by the Minneapolis bureau of The Associated Press. Write a broadcast story based on the information.
Bobbi Polzine (pohl-zeen') and her husband, Alfred, who farm 400 acres near Brewster, Minn., have dug a ditch across their driveway and barricaded the farm to thwart any repossession attempt.
Bobbi Polzine is co-founder of the farm activist group "Groundswell."
A judge yesterday signed an order that authorizes the Worthington, Minn., Production Credit Association to repossess the Polzines' livestock and machinery in order to satisfy a debt.
Doug McCool, the head of the farm credit services in Worthington, confirmed that negotiations between his organization, the Polzines and their attorney took place last night and will continue today. The negotiations center on whether the Polzines could keep operating their farm.
McCool said: "I believe we are very close to an agreement that would be in the best financial interest of all parties."
The negotiations have helped to avert a confrontation at the southwestern Minnesota farm.
Nobles County Sheriff Dale Peters said that he was thinking about going on vacation to give the parties time to come up with a compromise.
Peters said that he wanted no violence at the Polzines' farm. He said: "We aren't living in different countries where we have to hold hostages."
An announcement could come today on the outcome of the negotiations.
