About the Authors



Marilyn L. Satterwhite has been a community college professor and trainer for over 30 years. In addition to her first love—teaching, she has authored seven textbooks, all dealing with communication skills. She is a frequent speaker at workshops, conventions, and seminars for business educators, office assistants, executives, and other businesspeople who want to improve their communication skills. Some of the professional organizations Marilyn is active in include the International Society for Business Educators, North Central and National Business Education Association, Illinois Business Education Association—including serving as its president in 2005—and many others.

Her accomplishments and contributions to the field of business education and community service have been recognized in the following ways:

• Eastern Illinois University Lumpkin School of Business Distinguished Alumnus
• Association of Community College Trustees Central Region Faculty Member of the Year
• National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) Teaching Excellence Award

• Danville Woman of the Year
• DACC Faculty of the Year
• IBEA and NCBEA Distinguished Service Award

Dr. Judith Olson-Sutton is an experienced educator and administrator; she has held positions in teaching and administration at both the secondary and postsecondary levels. For the past 25 years, she has been Associate Dean of Business at Madison Area Technical College, where she manages the Accounting, Management, Finance, and Information Technology programs. Judy's commitment to her profession is evident through her extensive involvement in several professional organizations at the local, state, regional, national, and international levels. Her leadership roles have included serving as president of the Wisconsin, North Central, and National Business Education Associations as well as the United States Vice President to the International Society of Business Education's (ISBE) Executive Committee.

For her contributions to business education, Judy has received the following recognitions:
