Thinking Critically
(See related pages)

If you were going to teach an animal to communicate a message new to that animal, what message would you select? How would you teach the animal to communicate the message at the appropriate time?

The kind of message you select could be practical, philosophical, or humorous. In order to teach an animal to communicate a message you would need to consider: the sensory abilities of the animal, the complexity of the message, the method the animal will use to communicate, how the animal will recognize the time to display the message, the kind of learning needed to store the message, and the nature of the animal's nervous system.
