About the Author

Timothy A. Borchers is Associate Professor of Speech Communication at Minnesota State University Moorhead. He has been at MSUM for six years. Professor Borchers received his bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and his master's and doctorate from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.

Professor Borchers teaches classes in Persuasion, Argumentation, Rhetorical Theory and Criticism, and Public Speaking. He has coached collegiate forensics for 10 years and has served as editor of the National Forensic Journal.

Timothy and his wife, Susanne Williams, have one son, Oliver. They live in Moorhead, MN. Professor Borchers enjoys sports, cooking, home improvement projects, and watching movies.
