Exercise 8.10 (22.0K)

Use the following information, which is from a story in The Arizona Republic in Phoenix, to write a quote lead.
This is a story about Melissa Martinez, an artist who also works for the Scottsdale Museum of Modern Art. Her job is to lead the installation of millions of dollars of art that rotates through the museum each year.
She's 26 years old and not like the typical person doing such work in a museum. The typical person would be older and male.
     Her job title is "preparator."
"Sometimes I feel like I should be introducing myself as a 40-year-old man," she says.
She likes to do installations that provide a sense of the artist's working style and says that sometimes artists look at her as though she is not up for the job. But once they see her operate a forklift, hang plaster board or use a crowbar on a crate, they know that she can fill bare walls and floors.
"If I had to do anything besides making art, this would be it," Martinez says. She has an art degree in sculpture and is working on a show of her own.
