Exercise 4.21

Use the following information, which is from an Associated Press story, to write a summary lead that emphasizes where.
     Tuesday was a rainy day.
Rain fell on the Midwest, from lower Michigan across northern Indiana and Illinois to northeast Missouri.
It also rained from central Arizona across northwest New Mexico into southern Colorado. And rain extended from the Oregon coast into northwest California.
Rain and thunderstorms are expected to continue Wednesday (today) in the Mississippi Valley, in the central Plains, over the Rockies and in northern Maine.
On Tuesday, it was warm over much of the eastern half of the nation.
In fact, 15 cities set record highs for the date.
